9 Block Walks - FASD Day present and past years.

This year the NWR FASD Society - Mackenzie Region held its annual 9 Block Walk in High Level Friday September 8th. Usually this walk is held on the 9th to signify the importance of going the full 9 month of pregnancy without the use of alcohol. However, in order to include the local schools in our walk the event was celebrated on Friday the 8th.

The day was very foggy but that didn’t stop the community from coming out and showing their support!

More and more walks…

During the rest of the month our staff also made visits to various communities in the Mackenzie Region to have local FASD awareness walks. These photos are specifically from our Meander River Awareness Walk.

Past FASD Days

The NWR FASD Society has been holding annual 9 Block Walks for over a decade. Each year this event not only raises awareness for FASD, but it also allows for a moment of reflection for the society to see the growth achieved over the years. Below are some photos captured at these events.
